We are a student organisation from Samarkand. We build events where young people practise the things that matter later in life — speaking, debating, negotiating, and organising. Our first conference, IYAMUN, is open for applications now.

A student organisation, built by students.
Here is the simple version: three friends noticed that clever, motivated classmates had nowhere to use that energy. So we made a place for it.
International Youth Association (IYA) was founded in 2026 at Polyglot International School in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. We organise events where students do real work: research a topic, stand up and speak about it, listen to people who disagree, and write down what everyone agreed on.
We are starting with one Model UN conference inside our own school. Step by step, we want to open it to our city, our country, and then further. You can see the full plan lower down this page.

What is Model United Nations?
If you have never heard of it, do not worry. Almost everyone starts here.
Model UN is a role-play of a real United Nations meeting. Each student becomes a delegate — you represent one country, not yourself.
Your committee gets one real world problem to solve. You read about your country first, so you know what it thinks. Then everyone takes turns speaking, forms groups with countries that agree with them, and writes a resolution — a short document with the solutions the room can accept. At the end, everyone votes on it.
It is done in English, with simple rules for who speaks and when. Nobody expects you to be perfect. Most delegates are nervous in their first session and fine by the second.

What actually happens at IYAMUN.
Four simple stages, from the moment you walk in to the moment you go home.
Opening
Everyone gathers, we explain the rules of the day, and you meet the students chairing your committee.
Debate
Your committee opens. Delegates take turns at the microphone and explain what their country wants.
Writing
Countries that agree work together and write a resolution — the shared list of solutions. Then the room votes.
Closing
We close the conference, hand out awards to standout delegates, and take a group photo.
Choose Your Room
The three committees.
A committee is simply the room you sit in and the kind of problem you discuss. You choose your preference when you apply.
General Assembly
The biggest room, where every country has a seat. You discuss wide topics such as education, climate, or development. Debate moves at a steady pace, so this is the friendliest place to start — most first-time delegates choose it.
Security Council
A small room of about fifteen delegates dealing with urgent peace and safety situations. Things move fast and you speak often. Best if you have debated before, or if you like pressure.
The Plan
From one school hall to the international stage.
We are growing one level at a time. Each stage has to work before we try the next one.
Local — our own school
IYAMUN 2026 at Polyglot International School. Students organise everything: the topics, the rules, the room, the awards.
Happening nowCity — Samarkand
We open delegate seats to students from other schools in the city, so the room stops being only us.
Regional
A larger conference bringing together delegations from towns and cities around the region.
National — Uzbekistan
Schools from across the country send delegations. This is the level where IYA becomes a real national event.
Central Asia
We invite neighbouring countries. Different school systems, same table.
Asia
A continental conference — and our first IYA chapters run by students outside Uzbekistan.
International
Model UN, forums and mixed-subject summits with delegates from around the world. That is where we are heading.

You will stand up and talk to a room of people you do not know. The first time is hard. After that it stops being frightening — and that lasts for life.
Real responsibility
Members help run the conference itself — planning, research, chairing, logistics. You are not just a guest at someone else's event.
A network that grows
You meet students from your school now, your city next year, and further after that — as IYA moves up the roadmap, so does the circle you belong to.
Writing that persuades
Resolutions have to be clear and short, or nobody votes for them. That is the same skill behind good essays, applications, and emails.
Founding-year status
IYA is new. Early members shape the traditions, the committees, and the rules that everyone after them will follow.

Questions people ask us.
What can I apply for right now?
Only IYAMUN on Sunday, 27 September 2026. General IYA membership and the later conferences are not open yet — they open in the order shown in the roadmap above.
Do I need experience?
No. Most people applying have never done Model UN before. We explain the rules on the day, and the chairs help you during the session. Curiosity matters more than experience.
Is my English good enough?
Almost certainly yes. The conference runs in English, but nobody is judged on accent or perfect grammar — only on whether your idea is clear. Simple, short sentences work very well in debate.
Do I have to be at Polyglot International School?
For this first conference we are starting inside Polyglot. From the next stage we open to other schools in Samarkand, so apply anyway and we will contact you when your stage opens.
What happens after I apply?
We read every application and reply to you directly with your committee and what to prepare before the day.
Does it cost anything?
Yes — IYAMUN 2026 has an application fee of 100,000 UZS per delegate. It covers your committee materials, the venue, and awards, and we will confirm the payment details once your application is reviewed.
